Click here for certification documents DOT EX-Number Approvals Granted for Kosdon TRM by AeroTech Reload Kits Since announcement of the AeroTech-Kosdon exclusive licensing agreement in May of 2000, Frank Kosdon and AeroTech personnel have been hard at work with documentation, certification and manufacturing efforts aimed at successfully duplicating Dr. Kosdon's line of reloadable motors using Kosdon "Fast", "Slow", "Dirty Harry" and delay formulations. Receipt of this approval means that AeroTech can proceed immediately with motor testing and certification efforts through the Tripoli Motor Testing Committee (TMT). California certification efforts will begin as soon as the Tripoli certification is granted. The proper shipping names and division numbers for the Kosdon by AeroTech reload kits are identical to those approvals already granted for other AeroTech propellants. That is, division 1.4S for reload kits using propellant modules containing not more than 30 g per module; division 1.4C for reload kits using propellant modules containing not more than 62.5 g per module; and division 1.3C for reload kits using propellant modules exceeding 62.5 grams but not more than 1,500 g per module. AeroTech's DOT-E 10996 exemption may be used to ship limited quantities of division 1.3C reload kits by UPS as division 1.4C. AeroTech will be applying for a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) approval to ship the 1.4S reload kits by Parcel Post surface mail in the very near future. AeroTech and TMT plan to have initial testing completed on two 38mm and 54mm reload kits in time for the upcoming Springfest launch at El Dorado Dry Lake in Nevada on 3/17-18 and the ALRS launch in Switzerland on 3/23-25, 2001. AeroTech representatives plan on attending both launches and Frank Kosdon will be at Springfest to demonstrate the new products. The AeroTech website is being updated with this news release, the EX-number approval, a video of a recent Kosdon TRM by AeroTech static test firing and a typical time-thrust curve.
